Innovation and tradition in the atelier

Sanchez Caro Tailoring, located on Monte Esquinza Street in the heart of Madrid, is our first retail project in the city.

The need to expand their store space, along with the desire to unify it with their workshop, led the owners of this business to acquire a new premises. Moneo Brock has overseen the renovation of the new space, its change of use, and its interior design.

A SPACE TO CREATE

The concept behind its design is to merge the shopping experience with the process of creating and tailoring garments. Previously, the owners had two separate spaces, one for the workshop and another for the store. A large sliding glass door separates the two areas when necessary, always maintaining visual connection.

By unifying both uses in a single space, it not only becomes easier for them to work, but it also brings the user closer to the tailoring profession, one of the oldest trades.

The premises transform into a continuous space that unites both functions, not only physically but also materially. The fabrics, the stone flooring, the colors of the walls and furniture, all act as a single entity that introduces you to the world of tailoring.

THE SPECIAL ELEMENT

The tailoring shop features two fitting rooms: one spacious, to allow tailors to take measurements of clients comfortably while respecting their privacy; and another, integrated into the main space for everyday clients.

This fitting room, a unique element, is made of stainless steel and doubles as a shelf and display. Inside, its four walls are lined with mirrors. A pivoting door allows for a 180º opening, giving the user a comprehensive perspective.

Additionally, the shelves are custom-designed. Glass shelves hang from strong ropes attached to the ceiling, creating a floating effect.

REDESIGNING THE IDENTITY

The façade is completely renovated. It is clad in black Marquina marble, elegantly reflecting the street. A new branding is designed, reflected in the new golden sign visible in the shop window. The entrance door is enlarged, designed to be bigger and wider to attract potential buyers.

The result is a spacious, obstacle-free area, where elements enhance the shopping experience, always providing original and innovative design solutions.
